Abstract:
Abstract The principal features of the economic environment will doubtless be familiar to most readers, and I shall not therefore dwell on them at any length. I shall, however, be drawing attention to those features which have received inadequate attention from economists, usually, it seems, because they are believed to fall outside the customary remit of economics. Such outdated notions of subject boundaries are gradually crumbling, but the process still has some way to go.
