Abstract:
Abstract Before 1989 the number of FIEs operating in the Czech economy was negligible. Since 1990 FDI has grown markedly, thanks to several large privatization deals, principally joint ventures like Volkswagen-Skoda, Nestlé-Cokoladovny or TelSource-Telecom. At the same time, a larğe number of small FIEs appeared, often not recorded in official statistics, but with an important’ and dynamic role in the economy.
