Abstract:
Abstract The emerging world order — based both on global markets and regional blocs — needs two kinds of institutions of global economic governance: those, like the Bretton Woods twins, overseeing the problems and opportunities created by globalization, and competent regional organizations such as the regional development banks, to complement these activities by strengthening the movement toward regional liberalization and integration (Culpeper, 1993).
