The Structure and Performance of Saudi Business Enterprises

M. M. Metwally and A M. M. Abdel-Rahman

Chapter 11 in Business and Economic Development in Saudi Arabia, 1996, pp 170-184 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Very little is known about the performance of business enterprises in Saudi Arabia. This is mainly due to the lack of relevant micro-level data and to an apparent preoccupation with macroeconomic issues at the expense of some important micro-economic issues. The aim of this chapter is to use data published recently in the Arab News and Al Majala to analyse the structure of Saudi business enterprises and assess their performance.
