Abstract:
Abstract From the multinational firm’s strategic point of view, the choice of production location abroad is crucial inasmuch as it determines the performance of its foreign operations in that region. For the foreign country which serves as a potential host location for the foreign multinational enterprise (MNE), the MNE’s locational decision will also become a potentially important factor as it comes to influence the host country’s prospects for regional economic development. Because of the great economic importance attached to the MNE’s locational decision an extensive literature1 has emerged to examine the factors that determine the MNE’s locational choice.
