The Dimensions of German Economic Unification: Keynote Address
Stephen F. Frowen
Chapter 1 in The German Currency Union of 1990, 1997, pp 1-10 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract It is both a privilege and a challenge to give the keynote speech on the eve of the Swansea two-day symposium on German economic unification. The privilege consists of the chance to point to the underlying, vital issues of the subject under discussion — without, however, being expected to arrive at final solutions. The challenge would consist of laying down the boundaries of the topic, discussing its wider dimensions and outlining some of the specific fields to be explored by other speakers.
