Abstract:
Abstract There are few studies on the nutritional status of the population of Central Asia, and those that do exist focus mainly on problems of adult overnutrition, in urban areas and often only in the capital city. This chapter presents the results of a study of anaemia and anthropometric status among women and children in Kzyl-Orda, one of Kazakhstan’s poorest regions. The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence and investigate the risk factors of anaemia and malnutrition.
