Chapter 4 in Regionalism and Africa’s Development, 1997, pp 62-83 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Disappointment with the achievements of integration in Africa is as widespread as the continued belief in its virtues and importance. It would be no exaggeration to say that Africa’s experience with integration schemes over the last quarter of a century has been the experience of failure, and that the achievements of integration have been slight or non-existent.
