Abstract The sun rarely shines on new ideas in economics; the days are even fewer when economists’ novel thoughts contribute value-added to those that came before. These truisms reflect the nature of the discipline. The expand upon Robert Heilbroner’s (1991) classic description, worldly philosophers are philosophers still, doomed to mull over concepts that do not envolve at any rapid pace.
