A Short View of Russia
John Maynard Keynes
Chapter 1 in Essays in Persuasion, 2010, pp 253-271 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract These chapters are the fruit of a brief visit to Russia in September 1925 by one ignorant of the language and of the country, but not without experience of the people, and in the company of an interpreter. The occasion was found in the bicentenary celebrations of the Academy of Sciences, once the Imperial Academy of Petersburg, now of Leningrad, at which I represented the University of Cambridge.
