Abstract The present volume focuses on Research and Technology Organizations (RTO) engaged in industrial R&D and technology development outside the corporate sector. Corporate R&D or in-house R&D is a recent phenomenon. Earlier, scientific research organizations contributed in the form of inventions and innovations for industrial applications with the help of the state and private bodies.
