Abstract:
Abstract Analysis of the effects of economic and social regulations and of tax policies typically assume that these policies are imposed on competitive markets composed exclusively of neoclassical profit-maximizing firms. Markets in which organizations affected by these policies operate differ from this assumed structure in a number of important ways. Markets exhibit varying degrees of competition. Markets also may include suppliers from the public and nonprofit sectors.
