Asian Family Connections
Michael Backman
Chapter Chapter 2 in The Asian Insider, 2004, pp 7-14 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract I visited the Hong Kong offices of Kerry Investments (part of the Kuok Group) some time back in the mid-1990s. There, a fund manager told me of the advantages of the group’s Marco Polo Dynasty Fund. It was a mutual fund that invested in stocks listed in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Hong Kong and then only if they were controlled by Asian founding families.
