Abstract: Abstract Hayek’s turn from technical economic theory during the 1920s and 1930s to political philosophy during the 1940s through, really, the rest of his career was unexpected, and he continued to write in a variety of areas during his post-1940 career, including—in addition to political philosophy—epistemology, the history of ideas, psychology, and economics. But his focus clearly changed from his career before 1940.
