Chapter Chapter 13 in Advanced Technologies in Business, Volume I, 2026, pp 335-358 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter examines the impact of advanced technology adoption on healthcare organizations and workforce dynamics. The integration of digital tools is transforming healthcare systems, enhancing service delivery, efficiency, and patient care. However, these advancements also introduce significant challenges, including increased administrative burdens, ethical concerns, security risks, time demands, and training gaps. Through a qualitative study based on in-depth interviews with healthcare professionals, five key themes emerge that reveal the dual effects of digital transformation: paradox of efficiency, ethical considerations, security concerns, time consumption, and training deficiencies. These insights illustrate how technology influences daily practices, professional responsibilities, and staff well-being. Highlighting the complexities of digital integration, this chapter emphasizes the importance of balanced approaches that support both operational goals and the human dimensions of healthcare, fostering a sustainable and adaptive healthcare environment.
