Abstract:
Abstract Between ca. 1640 and 1810, Sweden had its entrance and its exit as a Great Power. In the beginning, Sweden’s military adventures brought it the status of a Great Power in the north and the Baltics at Denmark-Norway’s expense. The conquests included the southern provinces of today’s Sweden, taken from Denmark-Norway (1657–1660), and much of the eastern and southern rims of the Baltic Sea.
