Smaller Local Banks

Violaine Cousin

Chapter 9 in Banking in China, 2011, pp 123-132 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The smaller urban local banks include mainly city commercial banks as well as a dwindling number of urban credit cooperatives. City commercial banks (CCBs) are local financial institutions that were set up in the reform era under the aegis of local governments. Most of them are headquartered in urban centres and their development is clearly linked to their narrow scope and environments.
