Conventional and Unconventional Weapons in a Central Bank’s Arsenal
Dimitris N. Chorafas
Chapter 5 in Sovereign Debt Crisis, 2011, pp 79-98 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Souk is an Arab word with a double meaning: it means market; but also confusion, chaos, instability. Inherent to this second definition are a significant number of unknown factors and doubtful outcomes – which evidently represent risk; and they can reach critical proportions when market confidence wanes which, quite evidently, does not happen just by accident.
