Sovereign Risk: Case Study on Greece

Dimitris N. Chorafas

Chapter 9 in Sovereign Debt Crisis, 2011, pp 154-170 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Though it has caused widespread tremors in euroland and, to a lesser extentworldwide, Greece is just the first episode of a sovereign crisis scheduled to assume important dimensions. The real problem underlying this crisis is much more fundamental than profligate policies and budget deficits; it is, further, underestimated by chiefs of state, finance ministers and central bankers.
