Abstract The purpose of this chapter is to analyze and discuss issues related to the banking regulatory and supervisory framework and structures in Portugal, and the role of the Portuguese Central Bank (henceforth and interchangeably Portuguese Central Bank, Banco de Portugal, and BdP) in that context.
