Abstract is the Chinese abbreviation for China’s accession to the World Trade Organisation or WTO (the expression in full being. Taken to the individual meaning of each character, this abbreviation could also mean “enter the world”. What will be the impact of Chinese banks entering the world? Or is the world finding access to Chinese markets through its accession to the WTO?
