Abstract:
Abstract This chapter contains an extensive set of facts and figures on the trends that have prevailed on the international market for syndicated loans between 1993 and 2004. The analysis saliently focuses on micro-features of loans and borrowers, such as borrower nationality, business sector, maturity, loan amounts and spreads over time. Trends in industrialized countries — the US, UK, Japan and the Euro Area — and emerging markets are compared.
