Chapter Chapter 13 in Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Financing Terrorism and Cybersecurity in the Banking Industry, 2023, pp 131-136 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Japan has established a domestic regulatory and oversight regime that imposes CDD (customer due diligence) and other necessary obligations on financial institutions and designated non-financial businesses and professions by the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds. The AML laws also apply to money laundering activities committed by Japanese nationals outside the jurisdiction’s borders. The FSA conducted cybersecurity assessments for regional banks and credit associations/unions selected based on risks.
