Chapter Chapter 8 in Creating Value and Improving Financial Performance, 2023, pp 205-237 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
ABSTRACT This chapter analyzes 75 “Considerazioni Finali”, published yearly by the Bank of Italy in the period of 1947–2021. The analysis combines a detailed survey of the content of these documents, carried on using the tools of economic analysis, with an observation of the linguistic configuration of these texts. The analysis focuses on the relationship between the technical content of the CF and specific lexical choices. It singles out the most significant economic, financial, and social events at the national and international level, to trace back the economic history of Italy from the post-war period to current times, exploring the major trends in the usage of the technical items associated with such a content.
