Abstract: Abstract Examining how vineyard surfaces have changed from 2019 to 2024, shows varied trends among the top 20 wine-producing countries. Nations like Russia, Italy, Brazil, and Germany have been steadily increasing their vineyard areas, while nations like Chile and Spain, despite their large-scale vineyards, are experiencing notable declines, especially in Chile’s case. Data from across the Old, New, and Third Worlds of Wine reveal a significant structural shift that seems to favour the rise of emerging countries on the global stage. The study dives into theoretical and practical implications, suggesting that, for the wine industry to make sustainable progress, innovative governance is required to bring together agrifood science, digital transformation, international marketing management, and alternative corporate finance.
