Abstract: Abstract Quality of Life (QoL) has a complex conceptual framework that encompasses several aspects related to individuals’ perceptions of their living conditions. Specifically, it includes physical, psychological, social, and environmental aspects. In essence, although humanity appears to require many things, the key elements that contribute to a dignified life—such as security, fairness, and emotional well-being—may, in fact, be relatively few and achievable. We thus raise the critical question: How are European countries doing in ensuring quality of life at the national level and in which areas is the greatest progress being made? This chapter aims to assess changes in the quality of life across European countries, examining QoL as a pathway to well-being and as a means of expanding the horizons of sustainability. By examining a decade of data from 35 European countries, the study highlights key trends and shifts in quality of life factors—such as cost of living, safety, healthcare, and pollution—that can guide strategic investments, policy adjustments, and cross-country collaborations. This decade-long data illustrates an overall improvement in the quality of life across Europe, with higher growth observed in less developed regions. While countries with already high QoLI continue to maintain their standards, transitional economies are making significant strides, reflecting positive trends in addressing inequality and promoting development. However, disparities persist, and continuous efforts are needed to ensure inclusive progress across the continent.
