Chapter 16 in The Expanding Horizons of Business and Management, Volume II, 2026, pp 383-404 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The location of a hospitality business is a critical factor influencing success. This chapter explores the strategic considerations involved in location decisions, including proximity to natural attractions, transportation networks, land costs, and the influence of government incentives. The research developed emphasizes how aligning operational practicalities, with market demand, can determine a project’s profitability. Using the case of the hotel Africa Jade Thalasso, located in Tunisia, this research illustrates how a strategic location can transform underdeveloped regions into thriving tourism destinations. It highlights the role of government incentives while promoting investment in underutilized regions as well. Finally, this chapter’s conclusions suggest that the development of an appropriate location strategy, coupled with supportive policies, can increase profitability, enhance guest satisfaction, and drive regional economic growth. Furthermore, this research is a contribution to entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector, which are advised to perform thoughtful location evaluations to ensure sustainable success and optimized returns.
