Chapter Chapter 3 in Bo Södersten from Left to Right, 2022, pp 19-27 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Bo Södersten left Uppsala for PhD studies at Stockholm University, with some articles that he wrote before finishing his doctoral dissertation. The contents of the latter are described: a mathematical study of the effects of economic growth on foreign trade, notably the terms-of-trade, the prelude to his lengthy thesis defense, and the harsh criticism he received during and after the defense.
