Chapter Chapter 2 in Trevor Winchester Swan, Volume II, 2023, pp 11-27 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Having solved the problem of internal and external balanceexternal balance, using a Keynesian kind of model, Swan was able to turn to problems of long-run growth. Amongst Swan’s major theory accomplishments was the independent development of the world's first significant theoretical “growth model” at about the same time as Robert (BobSolow, Robert M., 1956) Solow (1956) made his contribution which could be, and is, used to analyse the way resources such as labour and capital are combined over time to produce real increases in living standards.
