Abstract:
Abstract What is the role of an economist? Is it to be an efficient technocrat skilled in measuring, modeling, preparing comprehensive reports on the state of an enterprise or an international organisation? Or should an economist serve as a public intellectual dedicated to contributing to the betterment of ‘public welfare’? While mastering the modern toolbox of our discipline is essential, the true vocation of an economist needs to be clarified.
