Oxford: The Very Best Years

Chapter 13 in Lucky Boy in the Lucky Country, 2017, pp 139-159 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract I was in Oxford for nine years, as a reader in International Economics and fellow of Nuffield College. For Dorothy and me, this Oxford period was a highlight of our lives. I describe the College system, my teaching duties—running a weekly seminar, giving a weekly lecture, and individual postgraduate level supervisions. I had many impressive colleagues, notably, but not only, John Hicks and Ian Little. I made many close friends and had outstanding students, with many of whom I have stayed in contact. I wrote and published three major books and other publications.
