Abstract: Abstract This chapter surveys the opinions of the great Greek philosophers on the subject of wealth and poverty. A range of views existed on the subject, with such views influencing the intellectual discourse of subsequent centuries and schools of thought. The Greek philosophers surveyed include Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, in addition to the views of the Cynics and the Stoics.
