Chapter Chapter 1 in Corporate Conservatives Go to War, 2020, pp 1-21 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract This is an introduction that presents a summary of the political and economic impact of World War II on the US to provide both a guiding historical narrative for the ensuing discussion and to introduce the main themes which arose from the national war experience that are important to understanding the arguments raised in the book. The chapter also briefly explains the history of business activism in the US and analyzes the historiography of corporate elites and of the NAM.
