Chapter Chapter 3 in The Rise of Green Finance in Europe, 2019, pp 53-78 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter analyzes the development of green finance by sector. To this extent, it first examines the role of multilateral development banks in launching and fostering green finance and sustainable finance. Hence, it assesses the approaches adopted by industrial companies to embrace sustainable finance, in particular as concerns the implementation of sustainability and environmental reporting. Finally, it deals with the greening of private financial institutions (in particular, banks), underlying their crucial role in facilitating the development of green finance.
