Abstract: Abstract Various debt financing tools are available to finance the scaling up and mainstreaming of nature-based solutions (NBS), including green bonds and environmental impact bonds, green loans and credit lines, and green microfinance. This chapter will first provide an overview of green bonds before discussing their benefits to issuers and investors and a set of recommended principles in their issuance. The chapter will then discuss climate bond certification. Following this, the chapter will review green city bonds and environmental impact bonds. Finally, the chapter will examine green loans, green credit lines, and green microfinance for financing NBS.
