Chapter Chapter 9 in Financing Nature-Based Solutions, 2022, pp 187-211 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In the context of nature-based solutions (NBS), public–private partnerships (PPPs) can be applied in many ways. For example, PPPs can be used to implement green infrastructure and manage and preserve natural resources and various ecosystems. This chapter will first discuss the characteristics of PPPs and various types of PPP models before discussing PPPs’ risks and success factors. Next, the chapter will review the governing of PPPs and their typical lifecycles before discussing the financing of PPPs. Finally, the chapter will examine the application of PPPs to scale up and mainstream NBS in different contexts.
