Abstract The chapter presents the issue of ESG and defines the state of research in this field. The second part of the chapter is devoted to the issue of a sustainable business model and the challenges that companies face in this scope. The last part of the chapter describes a sustainable business model in financial institutions. The chapter especially points out the importance of the concept of sustainable development which makes the incorporation of ESG factors into the business model a natural necessity for modern entities that want to gain or maintain a competitive advantage on the market.
