Chapter Chapter 10 in Insurance 4.0, 2021, pp 309-328 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Persons are essential in insurance 4.0, as in other organizational activities. It is necessary to manage talents and cultural modernization with the same rigor as technology modernization. Talent- and culture-related aspects are top challenges when moving to insurance 4.0. Insurance 4.0 is an attempt to transform also the workforce. It is a successful way to make work more social, vibrant, productive, effective, and efficient. Insurance 4.0 requires new job profiles, such as data scientists. On the other side, it is also essential to retrain current staff. Few organizations undertake talent transformations. This chapter focuses on training 4.0 and new competencies. This process should start by taking an inventory of the competencies of the current employees. It is essential to compare the results with the competencies that the company needs to have to be an insurance 4.0. Understanding the gaps can help executives in directing talent-development efforts to where they will be most useful. Consistent with this view, training 4.0 is essential both for the new generations of employees and also for supporting the work transformation in the current workforce and management.
