Abstract This chapter introduces the concept of the bionic banking transformation. It starts with the birth of the concept out of the business model philosophy. This chapter defines what a bionic transformation and its drivers and impacts are. This chapter also presents the advancement of the bionic transformation and its potential effects in the short and medium terms.
