Chapter Chapter 21 in Regulation and Finance in the Port Industry, 2022, pp 343-361 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The chapter discusses the role of public–private partnerships in the port industry, defining different financial solutions currently exploited by both port management bodies and port operators in order to expand their port activities. In doing so, the chapter links institutional and cultural characteristics to the possibility of using different financial tools and provides a useful summary of most commonly used financial solutions, starting from project financing to bonds and multinational schemes.
