Strategies of Multinational Health Care Companies in Europe and Asia

Chapter 2 in Commercialization of Health Care, 2005, pp 22-37 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Multinational companies (MNCs) exert influence over the rate of commercialization and corporatization of health care worldwide, through direct investment and through their influence on regulatory decision-making. However, multinational health care companies have shown an uneven process of expansion in the last five years in what they perceive as risky and highly politicized markets. Health policy needs to be informed by a good understanding of MNCs’ strategies of market development and regulatory influence.
