Foreign Affiliates as Knowledge Source for Host Regional Innovation Systems in CEE
Johannes Stephan
Chapter 6 in The Technological Role of Inward Foreign Direct Investment in Central East Europe, 2013, pp 145-176 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The analysis in this chapter complements the analysis in the previous one: the technological-embeddedness issue introduced in the previous chapter on the determinants of sourcing knowledge and technology from the host innovation system is not uni-directional: embeddedness can also involve the flow of knowledge and technology from the foreign affiliate to other actors in the host innovation system. This is within the most widely researched area of the developmental role of FDI and is best known as spillover literature.
