Water – the Essence of Growth

Abstract: Water has played an important role in human history and civilization. The aim of this article is to demonstrate that water – with its specific features – is essential in economic development. In the first place it is deduce how water found its place among economic goods. Secondly, the demand and supply of our days is detailed with an outlook to imminent changes related to the growth of population and climate change. Finally, the role of water in development will be evolved considering the challenges and the means of a favourable outcome.
