Abstract:
Large industrial complexes were the engines of the Soviet economy, which collapsed in 1991. Advancing economic growth in Russia is a question of how well these previous agglomerations will be transformed into market-driven industry clusters, and what kind of new business activities free entrepreneurship generates.
