Abstract: Incorporating emotional attributes such as kindness, professionalism, or fierceness is essential to cultivating appropriate levels of vulnerability and humanity in the workplace. Yet many early-career adults do not know how to harness their positive emotions to support productivity at work. This session is designed to support HR professionals in understanding the essential role of emotions in employees and to provide strategies to strengthen employees' emotional resilience and intelligence through team building and reflection. Such efforts can cultivate the soft skills essential for business success, such as helping employees effectively manage their emotions to enhance relatability, tone, and communication. Team building activities provide opportunities for employees to engage in scenarios that reflect their capacity for emotionally intelligent behavior. Exploring the 'why' of particular emotions can help everyone reflect on their values, voice, and contributions to the company. Such activities honor and support the holistic nature of human flourishing in the workplace. Accordingly, this interactive session combines lectures and reflective exercises to help attendees explore their own emotional landscape and develop strategies for working with employees who face emotional challenges.
