Abstract: This paper was presented by Mr. Albrecht at the Seminar on Bank Regulation of Off-Balance Sheet Activities in the SEACEN Countries, mounted by The SEACEN Centre in Kathmandu, Nepal from 8 - 10 February 1993. It reviews the off-balance sheet activities in the U.S. including their accounting treatments and control as well as conformity with capital adequacy standards.
