Abstract:
This paper analyses the Asian financial crisis, focusing on the financial boom of the 1990s and on the investor panic that sparked its collapse. It also assesses the policy responses by the governments and international agencies - principally the IMF. The paper offers some suggestions to help restore economic growth.
