Abstract:
The world energy situation in the seventies has presented most countries, including the SEACEN countries, with the problem of adjusting their economies to the high cost of energy. This paper looks into the measures taken by the SEACEN countries in dealing with the energy crisis. Some issues on incentives for conservation, regulation on the use of energy as well as the long-term development of other energy sources are discussed in this paper.
