Abstract:
Abstract The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic (COVID-19) drove to the forefront the criticality of agri-food and public health systems in reshaping sustainable development goals. Invariably, agricultural deepening and sustainable development are mutually reinforcing, thereby generating interactive linkages between agriculture and non-agriculture sectors. Improved agricultural competitiveness is essential for economic growth in the sense that agriculture is a large sector, and growth in that sector imposes a high weight on aggregate growth, justifying public investment in agriculture. This concluding chapter wraps up the policy recommendations articulated in this book within the context of areas of future policy research agenda.
