It argues that service deliveryService delivery challenges that emanate from the instability of electoral systemsElectoral systems, coalitions and polarisation undermine municipal administrations’ ability to deliver services. The chapter recommends that as coalitionCoalition politics inevitably spread across different local governmentsLocal government, there is a need for regulatory frameworks that complement electoral systemsElectoral systems to bring stability, reduce political polarisationPolitical polarization and ultimately lead to improved service deliveryService delivery outcomes in municipalitiesMunicipality.
